Rubber Car Mats
Rubber car mats are cut from the same OEM-specific patterns as our carpet sets — same fixing clip positions, same outline, same exact fit. The difference is the material: heavy-duty moulded rubber that you can hose down, towel off and put straight back in the car. No drying time, no staining, no flattening.
They suit vehicles where the floor takes punishment: family SUVs, vans, working vehicles, cars used by tradespeople, or any car that sees muddy boots, dog paws, or wet weather on a regular basis. Most of our Kia, Toyota, Ford Transit and Volkswagen Transporter orders are rubber for exactly this reason.
Why rubber car mats fit the way they do
A universal rubber mat that gets trimmed to shape is not the same thing. The correct fixing clip positions matter as much as the outline — a mat that can shift forwards under braking is a safety issue, not just an annoyance. Our rubber mats are cut from the vehicle-specific pattern for your exact model, with the fixing points already positioned correctly. You clip them in and they stay put.
The rubber compound we use is heavy-duty enough to hold its shape under daily use but flexible enough to conform to the contours of the footwell. The raised lip edges contain mud, water and debris rather than letting it run underneath. Clean with a damp cloth, a bucket, or a jet wash — the material doesn't care.
Rubber vs carpet — which is right for your car?
| Rubber | Carpet | |
|---|---|---|
| Waterproof | Yes | No |
| Easy to clean | Very easy | Moderate |
| Interior feel | Practical | Premium |
| Durability (heavy use) | Excellent | Good |
| Best for | Family cars, SUVs, vans, dogs, kids | Commuters, low-traffic interiors |
| Starting price | £37.99 | £19.99 |
Both types are available for every make and model we cover. If you use your car in varied conditions, some customers order rubber for the driver's footwell (highest wear) and carpet for the rear. The choice is yours and the patterns are the same underneath.
Frequently asked questions
Do rubber mats include the fixing clips?
Yes. Every set includes the vehicle-specific fixing clips for your model. You don't need to source these separately or adapt anything.
Can I put rubber mats in a luxury car?
You can. Many 5 Series, Audi A6 and Range Rover owners use rubber mats in the front and carpet in the rear — or rubber in the boot alongside a boot liner. The fit is identical regardless of vehicle specification.
Are these moulded or flat rubber mats?
Flat cut with raised lip edges — not vacuum-formed or deep-moulded. They conform to the footwell shape naturally and the raised edges contain debris effectively for most vehicles.
How long do rubber mats last?
Typically 5–8 years with normal use. The compound doesn't degrade quickly in UK conditions. Our 18-month warranty covers manufacturing defects, but most customers see rubber outlast carpet in high-traffic vehicles.
